Meet ‘Won’ – The Stork at Attention Signs
The stork’s folkloric role as a bringer of babies and messenger of luck and prosperity has been rather common knowledge for many years. In many children’s stories, when a baby is born, the stork delivers the baby to their home.
Won the Fun and Friendly Delivery Stork
You have seen pictures of a stork carrying a baby wrapped in a blanket held in its beak. But did you know that the small pink or reddish patches sometimes seen on a newborn baby’s eyelids, between the eyes, on the upper lip, or on the nape of the neck are sometimes called “stork bites”? These are simply clusters of developing veins that usually fade in a short time.
Won doesn’t actually deliver babies wrapped in blankets and he would NEVER “bite” a baby or anyone else. But Won does like to have lots of fun getting out and meeting people.
Part of Won’s job at Attention Signs, besides promoting our great yard and banner signs, is promoting healthy living. He likes to give out hand sanitizer samples at events to encourage good hygiene.
You never know where Won might show up. He likes to get up early on Saturday mornings and visit the Farmer’s Market. He enjoys bartering hand sanitizer samples for green beans and peanuts with the vendors. The vendors get a kick out of it as well.
Another popular place where Won has been spotted is at Quince Años events to mark the coming of age for Hispanic girls; and local Pancake Suppers where kids (of all ages) always have lots of fun.
Won really gets a kick out of visiting places like retirement homes, day care facilities and shelters for those with developmental disabilities where he’s a real hit. It hasn’t been determined yet who has more fun… Won or those he visits!
